Your first lesson
Book your first lesson by calling or messaging us on WhatsApp at +90 546 637 15 20, or by sending the contact form. Tell us a little about the rider: age, any previous riding experience and what you would like to achieve. Like every lesson at the club, your first horseback riding lesson is a one-to-one session with an instructor.
The lesson starts on the ground. Your instructor introduces you to the horse, shows you how to approach, lead and handle it calmly, and explains the basic safety rules around the stable and arena. The instructor also chooses the horse that suits your size, experience and confidence, so you never have to pick one yourself.
Before you mount, your helmet is checked and fitted. You then begin with balance, a correct seat and quiet, simple communication with the horse, in the main arena or the lunging ring, depending on what the instructor thinks is right for you.
From basic riding to show jumping
Training at the club rests on two disciplines: basic riding (flatwork) and show jumping. Every rider starts with the basics: position, balance, steering and transitions at walk, trot and canter. Because each lesson is one-to-one, you and your instructor set the pace together.
Jumping begins once a rider can sit balanced and independently at all three gaits. How long that takes varies from person to person, and your instructor decides when you are ready.
Riders who want to go further can join the club's show jumping training and competition preparation programme. Plans are drawn up individually, based on each rider's level and goals, and the lessons remain one-to-one.
Horses, arena and safety
The club has a large number of European horses, as well as dedicated school horses for beginners. Lessons take place in the 35×55 m outdoor main arena, which has premium silica sand footing and drainage, and in the 18 m lunging ring.
A helmet is mandatory in every lesson. Helmets are available at the club, so you don't need to bring one to your first lesson, and riders who want their own can buy one from the club.
- Long, flexible trousers (riding breeches or leggings work well)
- Closed shoes or boots with a small heel
- A helmet: borrow one at the club or buy your own there
Booking, fees and language
After the first lesson, members choose their 30-minute slots online in the member panel at app.ishakliatlispor.com. Lessons run Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00–19:00; the club is closed on Mondays and everything is by appointment.
Prices are not published online: packages are put together with you at the club, according to how often you want to ride, your level and your goals. Members of İSASK Premium, the club's membership programme, receive a 10% discount on riding lessons.
Let us know which language you would prefer for lessons, and we'll confirm what we can arrange. İshaklı is a club member of the Turkish Equestrian Federation (Türkiye Binicilik Federasyonu, TBF). During a child's lesson, families can wait on the farm restaurant terrace overlooking the arena.
